The IACCGH
networking event held at Mayuri Indian Restaurant on
Feb 23rd was a sold out event with over 150
attendees. The chief Guests were Consul General S M
Gavai and Mr Rina Gavai.
IACCGH President
Somesh Singh welcomed the guests.
IACCGH past
President Deepa Thakur (Co Chair of the event) said
the Chamber has a strong focus on identifying and
serving the Small and Medium Enterprises and
self-employed professionals.
The Consul General
congratulated the leadership and members of the
Indo-American Chamber of Commerce on the active role
being played by them in promoting Indo-U.S. business
relations in close cooperation with the Consulate.
He highlighted the
strengths and achievements of the Indian economy and
the tremendous opportunities that have been opening
up as a result for trade and investment. He pointed
out that while most of the large U.S. companies were
doing business with India, the small and medium
sector needed to be engaged more vigorously.
Consul General Gavai
informed the audience that the Overseas Citizenship
of India Scheme had generated overwhelming response
from the Indo-American community. He expressed
confidence that the scheme would bring the community
even closer to India.
IACCGH Board member
Vinod Shah, who with Deepa Thakur co-chaired the
event, said that the Chamber of Commerce consists of
highly qualified, successful small, medium and large
businesses that are the best in their class and are
always looking for good customers to grow their
business and encouraged the audience to network. He
said “there could be no better person to do business
with than a fellow member of the Chamber. Many of
our members are willing to go the extra mile or
offer special rates for their fellow members. “ He
also explained that “The One Benefit of membership
is the opportunity for our members to place free
business card ads in a special members’ service
directory that the Chamber plans to print 1000 to
2000 copies of and distribute to our members and
thru high traffic outlets.”
The event was
