H.P.Bhagat

H.P. Bhagat moved to Houston four years ago after living 25 years in Singapore. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Guindy College in 1956 and joined Standard Vacuum Oil Company as a management trainee. After working in India for seven years, he was assigned to Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Cambodia with Esso Eastern Inc. He held various management positions in these countries for a period of nine years. He joined the Singapore Petroleum Co. in 1972 as General Manager for Marketing, with worldwide responsibilities for the marketing and trading of petroleum products, crude oil and specialties. In 1979, Mr. Bhagat joined Pacific Resources Inc. Hawaii, as Vice President and in 1980 was assigned to Singapore as Managing Director. Following the merger of PRI and BHP Petroleum, he continued as Managing Director with responsibility for the Far East. Mr. Bhagat is presently consulting in oil and related businesses in the U.S., India and the Far East. He is also a director of the East India Petroleum Company.
