Indian Americans Head to Washington D.C. to Earthquake Aid Effort

On February 28, 2001, Indian Americans from every corner of the nation – from all fifty states, including Alaska and Hawaii – united in Washington, DC to show the U.S. Congress, the White House and the American people that they emphatically support the appropriation of $100 million dollars in emergency assistance and reconstruction funds to help India recover from the earthquake catastrophe that struck Gujarat in late January.
