Meeting with Dr. Mendelsohn from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center

IACCGH Contributes to M.D. Anderson’s Flood Relief Campaign

IACCGH representatives, Ashoke Nath, Durga Agrawal and H.P. Bhagat, presented a check of $3,000 to Dr. Mendelsohn as the chamber’s contribution towards M.D. Anderson’s flood relief campaign.

Dr. Mendelsohn was appreciative of the effort and thanked the IACCGH for the contribution.

During the meeting there was a further exchange of views regarding the recently held Gala on 16th June, 2001. VIP’s attended the event from Houston and India, including the Minister of State for External Affairs Hon. Krishnam Raju, HE Lalit Mansingh, Indian Ambassador to Washington, Mr. Michael Capellas, CEO of Compaq, Mr. Bob Beauchamp, CEO of BMC software, Hon. Rinzing Wangdi, Counsel General of India in Houston and others.

Dr. Mendelsohn was keenly interested in developing collaboration with Tata Institute for Cancer Research in India. He will also make an effort to attend the Advisors lunch in December 2001. The subject of interns for 2002 was also brought up and Dr. Mendelsohn expressed an interest in pursuing such a program.

Overall the meeting was fruitful and established a good rapport with M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center.
