Infodat’s Malla Mekala: A Journey of Technological Innovation and Community Leadership

Malla Mekala, recognized for his exceptional contribution in the realms of technology and healthcare in Texas, stands out as a significant business leader and innovator. As the President of Infodat International Inc., Mekala was invited by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) to share his insights and experiences in the Business Hour on Open Forum. Jagdip Ahluwalia, the Executive Director of IACCGH, commented, “Malla serves as a role model for the Indo-American community.” Mekala’s impressive career, marked by his commitment to leveraging technology for societal betterment, the building of a strong, collaborative team, and the ability to strike a balance between technical expertise and soft skills, is an inspiring story for ambitious minds. During a candid conversation with radio host Dr. Subodh Bhuchar, Mekala mapped out his fascinating journey. He took the listeners back to his early interest in technology, its boundless potential, and his subsequent decision to move to Delhi. This move was a crucial step in his endeavor to delve deeper into this ever-evolving sector and make a significant impact. Navigating the helm at Infodat, Mekala has faced and overcome an array of unique challenges. Speaking on his company’s influence on healthcare, Mekala stated, “We are fortunate to work in an area that directly impacts healthcare outcomes. Our primary task in healthcare is to collect and analyze data from physicians, providers, and patients. This process, guided by specific protocols, garners insights that significantly contribute to improving patient care.”Mekala’s robust leadership ethos, cultivated in the bustling lanes of Hyderabad and refined through experiences in the United States, draws strength from his supportive family and co-founder. He endorses calculated risk-taking and harbors a strong aspiration to make substantial societal contributions.

Being a member of IACCGH, Mekala extols networking and collaboration as critical aspects of efficient leadership. He motivates future entrepreneurs to actively engage with professional organizations and establish robust relationships within the business community. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chamber played a vital role in connecting businesses with banks, providing critical help that kept many businesses afloat,” he said.

Mekala, also highlighted his involvement with the India Culture Center in Houston, stating its primary mission to serve the Indo-American community. “Our primary mission is to serve the Indo-American community in Houston. We also conduct a lot of cultural events which binds the Indian diaspora together,” said Mekala who is also the President of ICC.
