Past President, Rice University
David W. Leebron served as the President of Rice University and also as a Professor of Political Science. Prior to joining Rice, Mr. Leebron practiced corporate law in the private sector and served as the Dean of Columbia University School of Law.
Mr. Leebron has authored a textbook on international human rights and has written numerous articles on issues of international trade, human rights and corporate finance. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Society of International Law. While growing up in Philadelphia, Mr. Leebron was an exchange student to Germany and an Eagle Scout.
After graduating Summa cum Laude from Harvard College, he attended the law school there where he was elected President of the Harvard Law Review. He graduated Magna cum Laude.
