Brij Agrawal

Born in Lakhanpur, India, Brij Agrawal moved to Houston in 1979 at the age of 17. Having received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Houston (1988) and his Professional Engineer License (1992) he has held a variety of high-level engineering and manufacturing positions, including serving as as a Lead Engineer for M.W. Kellogg (1985-1990) and Chief Executive Officer for ABM Industries (1990-1998). He is the Chief Executive Office of VKC Group, established in 1988 with one store, which now is a restaurant management firm operating multiple concepts in the Greater Houston Area with more than 80 locations. VKC Group was recognized as one of the top 200 franchises by the Restaurant Finance Monitor multiple times. He is a chairperson for the Subway Franchisee Advertisement Fund Trust of Houston. He also serves as the Director for Subways’ Independent Purchasing Cooperative where he was awarded the Presidential Award for his involvement and leadership in the organization. A University of Houston Distinguished Alumnus, he established a Presidential Endowment at the Cullen College for Engineering for students at UH which awards several scholarships. He also donated financial support for the construction of the first building at the Sugar Land UH campus. As an immigrant from India he understands the needs of the minority community and believes in giving back through his contributions to various local charities and causes. He serves is the VP of Finance on the India House board.
