President Rajiv Bhavsar's Farewell Message

President Rajiv Bhavsar’s Farewell Message

Reflecting on a Remarkable Journey (2023–2024)

As my tenure as President of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) comes to a close, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride. Leading this organization during its 24th and 25th years has been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my life.

Founded in 1999, IACCGH has stood as a beacon for Indian American professionals and businesses, adapting and evolving alongside a dynamic and ever-changing world. Over these past two years, I have been privileged to work with an extraordinary team that has consistently exemplified excellence, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to creating opportunities for growth.

From groundbreaking initiatives like Women Mean Business to insightful gatherings such as the Annual Tax Seminar led by top CPAs, and distinguished lectures featuring visionaries like Lorenzo Simonelli, CEO of Baker Hughes, to an intimate conversation with Steve Keane, President and CEO of GHP, alongside Dr. Mohan Kuruvilla, we have enriched our community. These events not only offered critical insights but also empowered our members to navigate the challenges of an evolving business environment.

A personal highlight of my tenure was witnessing IACCGH receive its Proclamation at City Hall on July 16, 2024. This recognition affirmed the Chamber’s significant role in strengthening Houston’s business landscape and celebrating the invaluable contributions of our community.

As I prepare to pass the mantle of leadership to Malisha Patel, I take great comfort and pride in knowing that the Chamber’s future is bright. Malisha brings invaluable experience, thoughtful leadership, and a deep commitment to our mission. I am confident she will elevate IACCGH to new heights, building upon its legacy and forging new pathways for growth and collaboration.

Our achievements would not have been possible without the dedication of our Board, the invaluable guidance of past Presidents, and the wisdom of our advisors and mentors. I would especially like to recognize the outstanding contributions of our founding Secretary and Executive Director, Jagdip Ahluwalia, whose mantra, “My Network is My Net Worth,” has inspired us all and whose leadership remains a cornerstone of our success.

On a personal note, I owe a profound debt of gratitude to my parents, my beloved wife Bela, and my children Rajni and Niraj, whose unwavering support has been my foundation throughout this journey.

As we celebrate the Chamber’s 25th anniversary, let us look ahead with optimism, unity, and determination. I am deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me and for the collective spirit that continues to define IACCGH.

Thank you for giving me the honor of serving as your President. Together, we have built a strong foundation, and I look forward to witnessing the Chamber’s continued success under Malisha’s leadership.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Rajiv Bhavsar

President, IACCGH (2023–2024)
